Oct. 2 Atlanta Challenge is a Sunday event of teams running around the city to solve clues and win prizes. It ends at a restaurant with awards and a costume contest.

Oct. 2 Sunday in the Park is a Victorian street festival that offers food trucks, live music, a Victorian costume contest, artists’ market, history demonstrations, and tours at the historic Oakland Cemetery.

Oct. 2-9 November is a darkly humorous satire of our presidential election process, written by a Pulitzer Prize winner, at OnStage Atlanta.

Oct. 2-9 Georgia State Fair offers rides, shows, music, and vendors at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton.

Oct. 2-23 1776 is an irreverent (but family friendly) comedy about the founding fathers who drafted the Declaration of Independence and gave birth to a new nation, at The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone.

Oct. 2-30 Pumpkin Festival features a costume party, family shows, storytelling, kids’ activities, and a pie-eating contest at Stone Mountain Park. Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Oct. 2-31 The Pumpkin Class at Decatur Glassblowing includes safety instructions, a demonstration, and assistance making a pumpkin ornament to take home after it cools for 24 hours.
